Residence in Haleiwa Island of Oahu, Hawaii Project Details 2016
This new home is built on the beach with a great view of the famed surf break “Velzyland”. Our client wanted a “modern beach interior” with lots of white. Color was to be introduced with a bright orange front door, bright blue window seat cushion covers and colorful art…much of the art painted by the client! The exterior walls are built with concrete board (panels, trim and battens) that will hold up to the sea elements. The lanai areas are of Ipe wood. Vinyl windows and wood sliding doors provide the views. Interior walls are finished with drywall and contrasted with painted T1-11 plywood siding. All floors are reclaimed (engineered) wood from the state of Georgia. Stainless steel boat handrails were used for stairs and TP holders/towel bars. And of course finished in lots of white.
TESTIMONIAL I bought a piece of land in the North Shore and started a search for a great architect that could understand my design taste as well.I found Welch and Weeks and soon I found out that it was the best choice. The work flow and the understanding of our wishes, desires and needs were perfect. Good taste is hard to define but it all comes down to find someone that understands yours. Victor Weeks has a fantastic understanding of spaces and style. The executive plans were so full of details that the contractor had no room for doubts or errors. After one year living in it I can say that is absolute nothing wrong with it.No room too big or small, no space too narrow or too wide. All lines, colors, spaces and heights are harmonizing with each other. We are very happy clients and if I would start a new home for us, Victor would be the first one I will call.
